Loving the Philippines: History, Culture, Cinema, Hope

Every behaviour that makes you angry has a date, a document, and a designer. This course finds them, then asks what you want to do about it.

Thirty-one lessons across five levels, built from a research base where every claim carries a real citation and every disputed number carries its dispute. It is a reconciliation with a country, and at the same time a documentary research base.

Level 0 · Orientation

Three lessons. Make the shame speakable, install the evidence discipline the whole course runs on, and see the shape of the journey.

Level 1 · History

Eight lessons. Where the country came from, and where the corruption story actually started. The anger moves from people to design.

Level 2 · Culture and Systems

Seven lessons. The Filipino psyche from Filipino scholars first, then the point where a village value meets a national budget.

Level 3 · Philippine Cinema

Seven lessons. 1897 to now, read economically, ending in the industry you are actually walking into.

Level 4 · Hope and the Playbook

Six lessons. What other countries did, what it cost them, and the specific gap a community can stand in.

Go in order. The levels build on each other and so does the vocabulary. Each lesson is one sitting. Mark lessons complete as you go, and your progress stays in your browser.
